Overview of Region 4
ACUI Region 4 is divided amongst 4 states; Maryland, West Virginia,
Pennsylvania, Northern Virginia, and our nation's capital Washington,
DC.
The region consists of over 100 colleges and universities where over
300 professionals and 250 students are recipients of Region 4 services
and programs annually. Region 4 provides an educational and developmental
conference every November for professionals and students; a recreation
and college bowl tournament every February for students with many volunteer
opportunities for professionals; ACUI program scholarships for students;
recognition awards and newsletters.
Membership in ACUI is one of the most important steps one can take to
significantly contribute to the campus environment and to the development
of people who form the academic community. Colleges and universities
that present a general program for the cultural and recreational life
of the student body are invited to join ACUI as institutional members
and become actively involved in Region 4.
An institutional member designates the number of professional staff
and students it has to receive membership benefits.
Individual membership is also available for individuals employed full
time or for students at a nonmember institution.
Commercial organizations providing goods and services and supporting
the policies, purposes and activities of ACUI are invited to become
associate members. ACUI associate membership provides a myriad of information
about your market. Not-for-profit, non-collegiate organizations such
as community centers, public and governmental agencies, secondary schools
and recreation organizations can also join as associate members.
